australasian boardrider monthly, 1964.

Australasian Boardrider Monthly, 1964.
Australasian Boardrider Monthly
Room 7, National Bank Chambers
Corner of George and Turbot Streets, Brisbane, Queensland.
February 1964 - Number 1.

Introduction
Articles and photographs from a short lived (three issues?) surfing magazine published in Queensland following the initial success of Bob Evans' Surfing World and Jack Eden's Surfabout, which were both based in Sydney.

Edited by G.L. Winn, it appears much of the first edition was devoted to an appreciation of surfer girls.
The revered single Surfer Girl by the Beach Boys, backed with Little Deuce Coupe, was released in July, 1963, and both tracks appeared two months later on the Surfer Girl album released in September.

In addition to an article on the Binning sisters (one of two featured cover stories), there is the first entrant in the Miss Boardrider competition on page 1, some photographs of surfing girls, and the surfing  centrefold.

Also, there is a two page article on the renown surfing couple, Pa and Ma Bendall, an advertisement for Ray Woolsey's Gull Surfboards, and some mediocre photos of Greenmount Point by
staff photographer Graham Wood.

This entry also includes some extracts, including the centrefold, from the second and third editions.

We think she's fabulous but we are afraid that after seeing her male boardriders all over Australia will be wiping out on easy shorebreaks because their minds are not on the job.
Well girls, you could be "Miss Board-rider, No 2" or 3 or 4.

It is up to you
Send us your snapshots and each month one of you will be chosen as the month's winner.
Okay? But that's not all-

The winner will become '"Miss Boardrider, 1964" and she will receive a fabulous beach wardrobe.

The femlins placed second and third will also receive beach apparel
And fellas, you can help your favourite femlin by sending in her photo.
