Island Designs-Rip Curl decal previously in the Islands Surfboards entry, above.
This was adjusted after the following note in October, 2016:
Nothing to do with Island surfboards I'm afraid.
Rip curl store early 70's KKK shaped a few but to cold for the QLanders Russell Francis kept it going with x shapes from Rooster + Richard Evans .

Amberglow, Dick Van, T+C, Island, Islantis, JBay, Beach Street, Etc
Getting old .....better stop reminiscing.

Hopefully a few more blanks filled.

Cheers - Russ

Island Magic Surfboards

?
Mark Couston

Mark Couston noted in January 2016:.
I started making boards for myself because I couldn’t afford my hunger for new boards.
Then made boards for my mates and it grew from there. S
Seeing the first Bonza’s in magazines, I had to have (make) one, then made a few more on request.
The long side fins were cut from an old fiberglass Mal fin because I couldn’t buy them from Dion Chemicals at the time.

Darryl Bolger
"a shed at the back of Currumbin"
This entry suggested by email  from Darren Volker, who wrote in March 2008 (edited):
"Darryl Bolger worked at Darby and Local Knowledge and shaped my boards for many years before I headed overseas for 20 years.
He was shaping for his own company, Islander Classic, in a shed at the back of Currumbin.
They were hot boards and went like rockets at Uluwatu."
