NOTES
BOARD HISTORY
The board was shaped from one piece of solid timber, probably from Californian redwood and ts design suggests its vintage is considerable.

Dimensions and photographs Bennett Surfboards, 21st June 2014.
Many thanks to Barry and Greg Bennett.
Catalogue No. 3.
See Bennett Surfboards Collection

After extended negotiations with the director of a long-standing and removal company, located adjacent to the Bennett Surfboards factory, the board was added to their collection by Barry and Greg in the late 1980s.
The director reported that the board was retrieved from a deceased estate in the Freshwater area.
Clearly, it had been in storage for a considerable period, the timber extremely dry and prone to splitting.
The timber was treated with several coats of linseed oil, which significantly improved the condition of the wood and highlighted the deck decor, that had been previously virtually imperceptible.
