NOTES
BOARD HISTORY
Purchased Gerroa Beach, February 1999.
Dirty, various dings - some repaired, deck delamination, fin held in by rusted screw and gluey substance.
Fin removed, cleaned, volan repairs and polish.
The cracked fin box exposes internal glassing, the box fitted subsequently.
The fin may have been reshaped from the original mold, note removal of rear base section, by the board or the fin manufacturer.
DESIGN  HISTORY
The narrow width probably indicates it as one of the last of this design.
Although the template is strictly Hawaiian, probably for Burleigh Heads, the other features (bottom contour, chamfered pod and 50/50 rails) derive directly from the prior Vee bottom design,1967.
The three gluelines compliment the Gun template.
MANUFACTURER'S HISTORY
One of the first labels used by Dick van Straleen (the other being Spirit of the Sea Surfboards) after moving from Sydney in 1969.
